📈 Sharpfokus Brief — October 1, 2025
LQ45 should inflate
What does September inflation equal in LQ45 terms?
For almost a decade the LQ45 index has gone nowhere — badly trailing the broader JCI and even falling outright this year.
One clear pattern: LQ45 has moved with inflation.
• When inflation ran 5–6%, the LQ45 sat near 1,000.
• When inflation collapsed toward 0% early this year, the LQ45 sank to 650.
September inflation (just released) rose to 2.65% from 2.3% in August.
If the historic relationship holds, that level of inflation would imply an LQ45 near ~870 — while today it’s still trading below 800.
Not a screaming bull case — but some room for a bounce after a long slide.
